English Lyric (translation)
Inori (Prayer)
I count the seasons, that circle round slowly one by one
Send my thoughts to my hometown, far away, far away
Enya, enya…
Please deliver my voice over the vast ocean
I lay my heart on the sea’s waves which come and go, come and go
Pray deeply to the land under the sunny sky
Enya, enya…
Please deliver my voice over the vast ocean
About This Song
This song is inspired by Japanese traditional folk songs from Yukiko’s hometown, Akita Japan. It is about sending the thoughts to the loved ones over the ocean. This is the beautiful mixture of Japanese traditional folk songs elements with Madagascar rhythm, and the song expresses love and thoughts to the family and friends who live far away.
The song is co-produced by Donné Roberts (from “African Guitar Summit”) and Yukiko Tsutsui. It has recorded individually at each of our home studio during the pandemic.
