Toronto-based singer-songwriter Yukiko Tsutsui was born and raised in Akita, Japan. Her sound mixes elements of folk, pop, jazz and R&B with Japanese music influences. She moved to Toronto in 2016 and got into the music scene right away and started to perform with Juno Award-winning guitarist Donné Roberts. In 2018 and 2019 during the Ricoh Woodbine Mile at Woodbine Racetrack, she was selected to perform the Japanese National Anthem and broadcasted on TSN, the sports channel.

秋田県秋田市出身。2005年2月単身カナダへ渡り、バークリー音楽大学提携校ブリティッシュコロンビア州セルカークカレッジ・コンテンポラリーミュージック＆テクノロジープログラムで作曲を専攻。2016年4月よりカナダ・トロント在住。2018年と2019年、ウッドバイン競馬場で行われたウッドバイン・マイルで日本国家を独唱。ソロ活動の他、カナダ版グラミーとして知られるジュノー賞受賞ドネ・ロバーツとのデュオ、Baobab Cherryとしても活動中。
