Yukiko Tsutsui is a singer/songwriter from Akita, Japan. Her compositions are beautifully arranged and are influenced by Japanese contemporary music, traditional folk music and world music.

Since she immigrated to Toronto in 2016, she has been performing with various musicians at community events, festivals, local cafes, restaurants and bars.

In 2018 and 2019 during the Richo Woodbine Mile at Woodbine Racetrack, she was selected to perform the Japanese National Anthem and it was broadcasted on TSN, the sports channel.

Yukiko operated her national award-winning radio show, Japanese Musiquest, on the Kootenay Coop Radio in Nelson, BC from 2007 to 2012. The show syndicated on 5 stations across Canada and exposed its listeners to Japanese music and culture.

筒井 柚紀子

秋田県秋田市出身。多様な音楽を操る温かで豊かな歌声と、異文化での生活で養われた広い音楽性と表現力を持つ。

都内でアカペラシンガーとして活動後、カナダセルカーク・カレッジ音楽科卒業。

在学中からコミュニティーラジオ局Kootenay Coop Radioで日本の音楽と文化を紹介する番組「Japanese Musiquest」を企画・担当。カナダ全国計5局にて放送された。

ソロ活動の他、様々なミュージシャンとのコラボレーションも積極的に行っている。

現在はカナダ・トロントにてマダガスカルと日本のデュオ、Baobab Cherryとしても活動中。
